RESCUE

REHABILITATE
Rehabilitation represents the commitment behind every rescue — the belief that recovery is possible and worth the effort. REWILD
Rewilding is the ultimate expression of hope — restoring wildlife to the landscapes where they belong. It’s about rebuilding natural systems, strengthening genetic diversity, and giving wild species the space to live as nature intended. The long-term impact of rewilding is ecological stability: healthier populations, balanced habitats, and the revival of entire ecosystems that benefit all life, including human communities.
REFOREST
Reforestation is the foundation upon which the future of conservation stands. Healthy forests regulate climate, protect water sources, and create the habitats essential for wildlife survival. By restoring native trees and ecosystems, we invest in long-term environmental resilience — the kind that supports both people and nature. Each tree planted is a promise to the planet: to heal what’s been lost and protect what still endures.

OUR MISSION is to protect and preserve Africa’s wildlife and environment through field-based veterinary care, rescue, re-wilding, and re-forestation initiatives that create lasting impact for species, habitats, and communities.
AWCF's long term goal is to build a sustainable, Pan-African model for wildlife conservation — one that unites veterinary expertise, habitat restoration, and community collaboration to ensure the survival of species and the protection of ecosystems for generations to come.

Dr Willem Burger
The founder of AWCF. Dr Willem’s extensive veterinary experience and passion for sustainable conservation make him a crucial asset to the AWCF team.
Arnold neetling
Arnold and his family started Botlierskop Private Game Reserve in 1999 and were responsible for bringing the first white rhino back to the Western Cape.

Francina has over two decades of experience within the industry and has worked on numerous wildlife projects across Africa.
